A postcard from 1974, showing the Soviet square in Viljandi, Estonia. Photo by A.Kiisa
These old vehicles on the square make me so nostalgic! Especially the small ZAZ-965, known as maanteemuhk (a bump on the road), as my family used to own one of these.

And here comes your illustrated Estonian language lesson for today!
What the English call a greenhorn, we in Estonia call a kollanokk (yellow peak) - as you can see from this postcard, it needs no further explanation to understand what one has in mind, when calling someone a mere kollanokk!
Can someone English speaking give me similar illustration showing a greenhorn?

In Estonia storks used to get blamed, whenever a new baby appeared in a family.
The first postcard is by artist E.Valter , from 1960s.
The second one is couple of decades older and has no data on it about the artist.
But I am greatly amused by message on back of the older card. A child has written on it: “My grandmother with her brothers and sisters in bog. The baby with white shirt is my GRANDMOTHER.”
