And this is our local old tech museum. The smell there gave me a kick in the ribs—it reminded me of my dad’s motor club that I visited a lot as a kid. My dad used to do off-road racing. He had a customized UAZ (no glass in the windows, additional metal frame etc.) that he always worked on in the club. The smell of cars and oils felt like childhood. :)
They have a lot of other stuff too like music-playing devices, TVs, washing machines, a whole wall of phones, a real switchboard that was used at our local post office/commutation hub. Do you remember that time when, if you wanted to make a call outside of your city, you had to go to the hub, request the call and then wait until you’re called? I don’t, but my parents always tell me about it. :) I like history because it shows how far we’ve come. In some matters anyway.
