Peace and brotherhood of all nations
Another of my favourite themes on postcards - school and pioneers. I dig the image of the perfect youngster shown on postcards. Utopia with a 50s feel. Also those sepia postcards from the 30s - very interesting specimen from the transitional time from Russian Empire to Soviet Russia. Their haircuts still look like roaring 20s.
By the way, feel free to contact me if you’re interested in any of these postcards for your collection. I’ll explore and come back with a quote.
Reporting from the children’s postcard exhibition in Moscow! These are simple phone shots, but you can get the idea. There are all sorts of postcards there; holidays, illustration, fairy tales, educational etc. About half of the exhibition are Russian Empire postcards (pre-Soviet Union). I don’t know much about them, but I was impressed at the number and diversity.
For Soviet postcards, I was mostly “Oh I have this one”, but also there were a number of rare postcards which I only yet hope to find for my collection.
